How can you hit pictures in NBA2K21?

Stick when grab and shoot or post disappear. Button from anyplace in close. Works for me but it required a little practice. Is not it harder to pick your layup if you use button? I have always struggled with these controls and used stick for MT 2K21 layups. I swear I feel as though I have wasted $149 (Aussie dollars). I would LOVE to be shooting at 40% but I'm blessed if I can hit 20%. I only play offline. I understand we've scrub players right now, and I am a below average player but badly even layups which are in the middle of the meter are not going in. I don't even dare to try out a jump shooter. The AI appears to be absurd levels as well. I understand they want to reward ability in 2k21 however this kind of stuff will truly put off casual gamers and people new the 2K franchise and also new to basketball games.
I've been enjoying since 2K13 but I've never been that great of a participant. I would say I'm average, but I know I should not be missing all of these 3s. My starter players have never played this awful in 2k16,17,18,19 and 20. The only other 2K I played before 2K20 was 2K13 and which has been on PC. But this is a completely different level with a very different mechanic. I did ok in the demo and in the quickgames with the new shooting meter but can not hit the side of a barn here.
Simply played with the demo, but the stick was much more reliable than button to get me. I have always been a button guy also. I've got a 75 3 pointer, I believe I greened one shot in like 5 nba games. . . Genuinely shooting 2/16 within an offline triple threat game on only layups and 1 open jumpshot which airballed on marginally early. Spent $100 for this bullshit lmao. Person that the shooting is additional fine right now but that I would advise shot timing like appearance for the que on the cartoon.
Yep I'm having difficulty with it as well. Started a match on My group going 0/12 missing open 3s and midsize shots all over the place. I am all for them toning shots being almost automatic but the machine looks just a tiny bit too unforgiving thus far. Hopefully will start to get better after a few more games of getting used to it. The game just came out and we have ta new meter with Buy 2K MT slightly different timing.
