That said, there 2K MT are a few frustrating gameplay problems I have come across, also. Fastbreaks seem slightly enhanced, but player spacing continues to be noticeably off. For example, even my best three-point shooters will monitor inside the three-point lineup on fast breaks when they'd be better off locating space in the corner. In general, it feels like NBA 2K21 has not completely adapted to the accent modern NBA basketball has put on the three-point line. Quick catch-and-shoots are not as common as they should be, and final out is still far too easy on defense.
Likewise frustrating is that the CPU's capacity to make difficulties for itself. In my brief time with NBA 2K21, I have already seen two backcourt violations on wide-open inbounds passes. It served as a jarring reminder that I was not, in actuality, experiencing a true game of NBA basketball.
From a cursory glance, MyLeague appears to have received almost zero updates. The manner has a decent set of features built into it already, but this is the second year in a row without striking improvements. As somebody who loves to deep-dive into franchise construction, it's really disappointing that there's so little effort being put into the manner.
Thankfully, MyTeam has ditched its dreadful casino aesthetic out of last year. Make no mistake, even however -- even though it looks different, it still seems heavily dependent on microtransactions and buying packs. Like I said in last year's review, it is apparent that MyTeam's central aim is to extract as much cash as you're prepared to give up so as to prevent needing to grind out mundane challenges to advancement, and it doesn't appear anything has changed in this department.
There does appear to be an emphasis on customization for MyTeam this season: now you can select different ability paths for your evolution cards, such as focusing on athleticism or playmaking, which should help guide players to better fit under my personal playing style.Over the Buy NBA 2K21 MT weekend I will be diving deeper into game modes, including the new single-player narrative campaign, the re-designed Neighborhood, WNBA quickplay, and internet play before wrapping up this review prior to the end of next week.
