The last time that the series needed a presence on almost any Nintendo platform was Madden NFL 13 on the Wii U. Back in 2018, EA had stated they didn't plan on bringing the show to the Change, but the industry giant is apparently changing its tune with the hybrid system.
Should the theory supporting the work listing be accurate, it would indicate a continuous shift in the connection between the big N and Electronic Arts, together with several of its own franchises getting available on the portable console.
