Additionally, more recently, when fixing a few exploit involving gnomeball, we sent a message into the RS gold personnel to check that they'd fixed it in their match, and they replied that I'd really done, in about 2012, and forgotten all about it. So yeah, there's overlap, but it's relatively rare. But we do struggle with legacy systems occasionally, resulting in the occasional rewrite - I rewrote the OSRS Slayer mission code around 2014-5, making it much easier to plug in some of the upgrades players desired, which was well worthwhile, but players had to admit it took some time and had some knock-on consequences on task chances.
I have a distinct memory in my brain that's so eccentric, I'm not certain whether or not it actually occurred. A million or so years before, back in Runescape Classic, when fall parties were held in the upstairs of this Varrock Museum, I recall a time several months prior to RS2 was announced, when a Jagex Mod walked to the celebration from the opposite side of the wall (which was black back in these days), also told us about RS2 along with the type of updates which were intended cheap rs3 gold for it before it was made public understanding.
This memory is vivid in my mind, but I have no idea if it actually occurred. I might well imagine some employees from that age doing that even to hype more enthusiasm up for the forthcoming launch. But I am afraid I did not work here myself in the moment, and I don't know who it would have been specifically. Paul Gower, even - he was known to hang out and sometimes teleport players on the celebration room dining table to dance after RS2 together with the knights launched.
Can you guys talk about where OSRS lies in Jagex's portfolio? % of total earnings, target marketplace, etc? I really like the match itself, but I find myself fascinated with the real life facets of it (and the way the game itself imitates the real world economy - so trendy!). A game related question: is it possible for me to one-way interface my account to OSRS? I'd really like not to lose years of work. I'm afraid we will not discuss thingsl ike financials. We are a well-supported and well-respected portion of Jagex though. It is not possible I'm frightened, and though it was I'm not sure we would want to get it done. I'd personally rather not let RS3 XP (using their rates and actions ) to bypass the OSRS grind.
