RuneScape with plans to release the board game

  • Steamforged Games' partnership in partnership with Jagex is the latest in a long line of RuneScape Gold collaborations , bringing some of the biggest gaming franchises into a tabletop environment. The tabletop gaming juggernaut previously created board games based upon series like Monster Hunter World and Dark Souls and has just completed the most successful Kickstarter campaign for a Resident Evil 2 board game that raised more than 1 million GBP earlier in the year.

    The developer is aiming at the world of Gielinor and RuneScape with plans to release the board game as well as the core book for tabletop RPGs in the year ahead. The two RPG adaptations will feature a variety of RuneScape's most popular characters and locations, allowing a group with up to five players to play classic quests taken from RuneScape and bring the adventures in Gielinor to life.     Players can create and upgrade their equipment. They can also interact with NPCs and complete various side quests that are influenced from the popular MMORPG. The board game will go live by means of a Kickstarter campaign later this year. Meanwhile, the main tabletop RPG book is scheduled to go on sale immediately.

    The tabletop core book RPGs will notably be fully compatible with tabletop RPGs of massive size Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition core books, allowing dungeon masters to seamlessly incorporate elements of RuneScape into their games.

    Jagex Chief Executive Officer Phil Mansell was optimistic about this project, sharing his enthusiasm over Kickstarter. He expressed his excitement over the Kickstarter project "involving all the RuneScape players," and Steamforged CCO Mat Hart believed the "rich RuneScape universe will translate beautifully" to a tabletop game.

    RuneScape has been expanding significantly from its original browser-based roots in recent years with Steamforged's board game being the most recent offering from Jagex. In an interview with the media, many Jagex employees spoke about transitioning the mobile version of OSRS Fire Cape Buy RuneScape into the cross-platform edition in September, the game was launched.
