I've put hundreds of time into Fallout 4, and I probably played through about five. The remaining was just the promise of fun, along with the bloody "kill, loot, return' game loop fooling my brain into thinking it was enjoying itself. And old School RuneScape? I don't know. It's easy to recognize one of these timesink games: they consume your life and you then complain about it on the internet. However, RuneScape is different. When I'm not gaming, I'm still unable to form an opinion about it. I hear the music in my mind, and feel a gravitational pull bringing me back to it. It was discovered that it was an error on my mobile. My family hasn't heard from me in several days.
RuneScape was among the pioneers. It was a game which is solely focused on engaging, but it doesn't always have to go along with having fun.
