There's no reason to believe it

  • 64:55 is the ratio I use, with 64 being combat. I modified the method to RuneScape Gold make it work equally for P2Pers as well for F2Pers. It also works like combat level where you are only rated on the skills you are passionate about.

I will explain to you how the "Ring of Wealth" work's, there seem's to be alot of confision and reports regarding it. It's not a rumor. I came across an article on the Runescape Forums by a jagex moderator who clarified the details of the ring. Sorry, I don't have the URL. This topic was posted in the year 2000.

This is the way ROW operates. The Ring of Wealth (ROW) doesn't systematically increase the drop rate of rare drops. It does live up to its title. You will get rare drops from this ring, however, it's more rare without it. Are you interested in it right now? If you haven't...

Imagine a wheel being spinning every time you take out an animal. This wheel is made up of 80 "common drops" 15 "rare" and 5percent "very uncommon" if the wheel stops at "common" then the ring has no effect. If it stops at "rare" or very uncommon, then the ring will take effect.

When the wheel is stopped at "rare" another wheel will spin, this one has the entire range of rare items. The ring improves the odds of finding good rare items. Because it increases the value of items that are popular It's also referred to as "wealth". It's a great idea if you don't understand it. You can try playing neopets. Or PM me for another example. The rumor that the ROW had an opposite effect on Buy RuneScape 2007 Gold boss monsters was untrue. There's no reason to believe it.
